Fleas
Dog fleas also known as siphonaptera. Fleas are wingless, blood-sucking insects that feeds on dog, cats, humans and other species. The life of a flea from egg to larvae to adult is between three to six weeks. Fleas prefer dogs and cats as host but they can also be found on humans. Fleas bites frequently occur around the waist, ankles, armpits, and in the bend of the elbows and knees.To check if you pet has fleas, part it's hair and look for small bits of brown "dust" attached to the fur itself. The fleas excrete digested blood. See if the dust dissolves into a red liquid upon contact with a wet paper towel. Flea bites or scratching and biting may leave red irritated skin, and even bald patches in some cases. Small fast moving brown shapes are fleas.
Symptoms often begin suddenly (within hours). Symptoms of fleas are rash, papular, papule may have small hemorrhagic area, papules itch, a localized rash, skin rash or lesion located on the armpit or fold of a joint (at the elbow, knee, or ankle), the amount of skin area affected increases over time (enlarging skin rash or lesion) or the rash spreads to other areas and when pressed the area turns white (blanches to touch).
Other symptoms may be severe itching, hives, swelling only around a lesion (sore) or injury, generalized itching (pruritus) or itching of the skin rash and skin folds such as under the breasts or in the groin may be affected (intertrigo).
Grapefruit Seed Extract
Grapefruit seed extract is used against fleas while it helps heal any associated scars or sores. Grapefruit seed extract also eliminates mites that cause mange, it leaves pets fresh and clean smelling without harmful chemicals that are toxic to pets.
Fleas: Mix about (?) drops per Tbs. shampoo. Shampoo the fur thoroughly with the mixture and let it take effect for several minutes. Rinse well! Repeat the process after 3 days. For stubborn cases or small areas. A few drops can be mixed with a little vegetable glycerin, olive, sesame, almond, avocado or vegetable oil and rubbed in 2 times daily. Please make sure that the animal does not lick the highly concentrated mixture and consequently damages it more delicate mouth mucous membranes.
